Functional / Technical lead as the respective expert for Data Migration A global FTSE listed organization is looking for a Data Migration lead to join an M&A project. This role is a 12 month contract, potentially extendable to 18. Outside IR35. The role can be remote and is open to candidates within 1-2 hours time zones from London. Responsibilities: Lead the data migration efforts during the acquisition process, ensuring seamless integration of data from the acquired company. Develop and implement data migration strategies, plans, and timelines to meet project goals and deadlines. Collaborate with IT, business, and project management teams to identify data migration requirements and objectives. Conduct data mapping, data cleansing, and data validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to migrate data from source systems to target systems. Monitor and troubleshoot data migration issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure a smooth transition. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies throughout the migration process. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on the progress and status of data migration activities. Coach and mentor acquisition team members on data migration best practices and tools.Sills and experience required: Data Migration experience in an M&A integration context Ability to develop a strong partnership with SMEs to influence and align on scope, purpose, design principles and target delivery outcomes Proficient in the use of LeanIX and the COBIT Framework highly desirable, required to document detailed AS-IS and Future State. LeanIX will be used for ideation & road mapping Proven experience in reporting status, progress, issues & risks to the Program office Experience working in a partner led delivery approach, leading and directing the identified partner to achieve desired outcome OTIF and budget Robust prioritisation of the integration opportunities for respective specialist area based on the agreed design principles Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies, tools, and best practices. Proficiency in data mapping, data cleansing, and ETL processes. Experience with data governance, security, and privacy regulations. Experience with cloud-based data migration tools and platforms. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
