As a highly experienced technical leader joining our Cross Boundary Team, you will drive strategy and innovation, leading on the application development and coordination of technical teams to create and maintain products and services for DWP. You will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to convey complex ideas and plans to both stakeholders and technical teams. This role requires a technical specialist who can steer communication between a range of technical resources to ensure alignment to standards and business needs, as well as DWP strategy. DWP. Experience of anticipating and exploiting opportunities, suggesting and reviewing new technologies to ensure they are fit for purpose and utilised in the best way possible. Experience of leading a team of engineers, providing experience, advice, and guidance to a wider team. Experience of getting solutions through technical governance, in particular architectural design approval, and understanding how technical governance works within wider governance. Experience of assuring corporate services by understanding key risks and mitigation through assurance mechanisms. Experience of ensuring solutions meet standards of practice and appropriate governance You and your role As a member of the Cross Boundary Team's leadership team, you will be accountable for the application development, coordination and leadership of a large technical team (around 100 resources), creating and maintaining products and services for DWP. Using your deep technical knowledge, you will provide advice and guidance across internal and external relationships reconciling priorities, agreeing on approach and contextualising proposals submitted for approval. You will make balanced recommendations to mitigate problems resultative of change in Departmental policy. You will work closely with the delivery team to ensure alignment to the wider DWP technical strategy and achieve mutually acceptable solutions across both internal and external interests. You will have the expertise to contribute to critical business discussions to inform strategy across areas such as software development, engineering, DevOps and solution architecture. Due to the size and location of the team, there will be an element of travel required to all hub locations, which will contribute to your hybrid working commitment. Details. Wages. Perks.
