Technical Delivery Manager, (Software Engineering) Remote with 1 day per month in the UK office+ UK Face to Face client meetings Our client, a pioneer in technology for decades worldwide. Position: Technical Delivery Manager The Technical Delivery Manager is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality technical products and services, aligning with customer requirements and contractual commitments. The successful candidate will be an expert in utilizing digital technologies to deliver new and enhanced products using agile methodologies. With a strong background in technology, they will oversee the delivery management of bespoke software products through collaboration with internal and third-party software development, architecture, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams. The role involves close coordination with customer-facing Project Managers and internal technical delivery teams to ensure seamless operational delivery of customer changes throughout the entire delivery lifecycle (requirements, development, testing, and roll-out). Responsibilities Technical Delivery - Planning Collaborate with customer-facing Project Management, Solution Architecture, Product Management, Technical Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to analyze customer/investment change programs and identify technology deliverables, milestones, and required activities. Develop an operational delivery plan covering the entire delivery lifecycle for one or more customer/internal investment change programs. Schedule and establish technical deliverables across the program lifecycle. Ensure inclusion of standard artefacts for effective change, such as requirements tracking, architecture solutions, product roadmaps, development backlogs, quality strategies, environment & release strategies, and customer engagement models. Technical Delivery – Execution & Reporting Lead and motivate technical delivery teams throughout the program lifecycle, providing clear direction on customer needs and enabling escalation of delivery issues. Measure, track, and report on the delivery progress of technology deliverables, ensuring adherence to time, budget, and quality standards. Conduct weekly internal reviews of technical deliverables with delivery teams, identifying and escalating issues and blockers. Manage and mitigate technical delivery risks and issues as part of the wider change program risk management process. Monitor changes to program scope impacting technical deliverables and ensure contractual changes are formally agreed upon prior to implementation. Serve as the primary contact point for technical delivery activities, escalations, and in-flight changes between the project team and customers. Experience Required: Proven experience in managing complex development and technology changes in a commercial organization, preferably in a multi-customer, multi-product SaaS-based environment (Software Engineering). Experience in agile product development organizations delivering multi-year customer change programs to discrete milestones. Success in building relationships with senior internal stakeholders and customers. Experience in matrix organizations spanning multiple countries Desirable: Experience with digital product delivery, architecture, and infrastructure teams across multiple geographical locations. Familiarity with issue and project management software such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, and MS Project. Passionate about learning new skills and driving continual improvement in technology delivery. A self-starter with excellent people and process management skills.
