PON Network Consultant

Contract Duration: Contract for 3 months · Location:Milton Keynes, 2-3 days a week at the Office · Number of interviews: 1-2 Technical interviews via Ms Teams video · Role Urgency/ Candidate expected to start the role: Start Date is ASAP, hence need candidates with immediate availability · Contract Day rate: Max · Possibility of Contract Extension: YES · Vacancy Number: 1 Overview The XGS PON (10-Gigabit Symmetrical Passive Optical Network) Network Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing high-capacity broadband networks using XGS PON technology. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand their network requirements, providing expert advice on best practices, and ensuring seamless integration of XGS PON solutions. The consultant will also be involved in troubleshooting and maintaining the network infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability. Roles & Responsibilities Able to understand, design and own the delivery of below use cases as a part of client requirement : 1. Link Quality 2. Link Stability 3. PON capacity 4. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Consultation & Support: · Provide expert guidance to client and in-house team on achieving the above mentioned use cases in XGS PON technology. · Participate actively in workshops for client technical teams. · Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for network issues. Optimization & Maintenance: · Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement. · Optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency and reliability. · Perform regular maintenance and updates to network systems. Documentation & Reporting: · Create detailed technical documentation, including network designs, implementation plans, and troubleshooting guides. · Prepare regular reports on network performance and project progress. Requirements · Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on PON technologies. · Proven experience with XGS PON technology and related hardware/software. · Strong background in broadband network design and implementation. · In-depth knowledge of XGS PON technology and standards. · Proficiency in network design tools and software. · Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team
