Job Title: AWS Lead Engineer / Engineer Location: Central London Work Setup: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office per week) Salary: Competitive Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled AWS Lead Engineer / Engineer to play a pivotal role in our cloud migration team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing the migration of over 120 microservices to AWS, as well as collaborating on the design and development of new cloud-native solutions. This position demands strong leadership in cloud architecture, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to ensure high-quality software delivery. Key Responsibilities: * Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and strategy for migrating microservices to AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. * Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to the engineering teams, fostering best practices in cloud technologies and software engineering. * Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product and business teams to ensure alignment of cloud migration efforts with business goals. * Cloud Solutions Development: Participate in the development, deployment, and optimization of microservices and other cloud solutions on AWS. * Code Reviews & Best Practices: Conduct thorough code reviews and promote adherence to DevOps methodologies, ensuring high-quality, secure, and performant systems. * Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and IaC frameworks using tools like Terraform. Essential Skills: * AWS Services Expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS). * Container Orchestration: Proficient with Kubernetes and Docker for containerized environments. * Service Mesh: Experience with Istio for managing service mesh in cloud-native architectures. * Infrastructure as Code: Skilled in Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment. * Programming: Strong expertise in Java, with experience in frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot. * Event Streaming: Knowledge of Kafka for real-time data streaming and messaging. * DevOps Tools: Familiarity with GitLab, Helm, Maven, and Argo CD for continuous integration and deployment.
