Job Opportunity: VoIP Engineer Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Location: Birmingham Area Additional Benefits: Employee Ownership Bonus: Eligible after 12 months of employment Overtime Pay: £140 for each on-call weekendOur client is a leading provider of telecom and data services through dealers and resellers across the UK, is seeking a skilled VoIP Engineer to join their dynamic team. With a focus on maintaining and growing their channel base as the BT switch-off approaches, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our business growth. As a VoIP Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with dedicated provisioning and sales teams, delivering technical support to ensure seamless customer onboarding and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support for customer onboarding and issue resolution Collaborate with sales and provisioning teams to deliver a seamless customer experience Troubleshoot and analyse VoIP systems using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and sngrep Occasionally travel to customer sites when required Requirements: 2-3 years of hands-on experience with VoIP PBXs and Unified Communications Solid understanding of VoIP protocols Proficiency in call flow analysis with tools such as Wireshark Strong knowledge of networking technologies (OSI model, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, QoS) Familiarity with telecommunications standards like DECT, SIP, and Analog Bonus: Experience with Microsoft 365 licenses Excellent problem-solving, technical, and communication skills Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new products and technologies Valid driving license with access to a car for occasional travel Willingness to participate in the on-call weekend rota (approximately once per month)Join our client's company and become a key contributor to their ongoing success.
