It Support Engineer

We are seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our well known, market leading manufacturing client in Sheffield. Reporting to the IT Deputy Director, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting technical issues, providing user support, maintaining hardware and software, and implementing security measures. Your efforts will help minimise downtime, optimise system performance, and uphold data integrity and security. Key Responsibilities: * User Support: Handle user requests related to IT infrastructure, providing timely resolutions and updates through our ticketing system. * Incident Management: Diagnose technical issues and document resolutions in the ticketing system. Follow up on outstanding tickets to ensure user satisfaction. * Preventive Maintenance: Monitor systems proactively and take necessary actions to prevent potential issues. * User Training: Assist in training users and provide technical guidance to enhance overall IT efficiency. Required Skills and Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Information Technology or a related field. * Proficient in IT infrastructure technologies (Windows, Linux, macOS, Docker, Nutanix, Bash, PowerShell). * Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP). * Experience with desktop deployment tools (SCCM, Intune, Windows Autopilot). * Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM frameworks. * Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage stress effectively. * Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills. * Fluent in English (minimum B2 level); proficiency in another European language is a plus.
