Avanti Recruitment is working with a dynamic web design, development and marketing company who are on the lookout for a Senior/Lead Developer to join the team on a permanent basis. The role is remote first and comes with the potential to work a 4-day working week. The company is looking to relocate near Heathrow soon, and they have built out online gifting brands that have achieved a turnover of £10M+. You’ll be joining a team of 30 people, with the dev team consisting of 5 currently however they are poised for significant growth and plan on doubling in size over the coming years. The Role: They are on the lookout for an experienced Senior/Lead Java Developer to spearhead their technological evolution, transforming from their current Magento/PHP (Lamp Stack) setup to a cutting-edge Java Enterprise environment. This is a pivotal role that will shape the future of the tech stack and contribute directly to the company’s growth. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement technology roadmaps * Design and oversee system architecture * Lead the migration to Java Enterprise (Spring/Spring Boot Microservices) * Facilitate the company's move to AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS) * Create prototypes and liaise with stakeholders * Balance hands-on development (50%) with architecture, design, and stakeholder management (50%) Required Skills and Experience: * Proven track record in Java Enterprise development (Spring/Spring Boot Microservices) * Strong understanding of cloud technologies, particularly AWS * Fullstack development capabilities (Ideally LAMP Stack) * Experience with e-commerce platforms (extremely desirable) * Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management * Ability to quickly adapt to and lead innovation with new technologies Work Environment * Remote-first policy * Potential for a 4-day work week for the right candidate * Flexible working hours (core hours 9 AM - 5 PM) Benefits Package * Competitive salary up to £70,000 (with potential flexibility up to £80,000 for exceptional candidates) * Performance-based bonus up to 12% * 5% matched pension contribution * Generous staff discount (35-40%) * 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays * Healthcare and life insurance options under consideration Interview Process * Initial video interview with CTO/Co-Founder: Company overview, role discussion, and CV review * Technical Q&A or pair programming session (to be determined) If you're passionate about leading technological innovation and ready to play a crucial role in scaling a successful e-commerce business, then click Apply Now
