Our client is seeking a dedicated and motivated 1st Line IT Support Technician to join their IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability and optimal performance of the group's IT systems, including servers, switches, and telecommunications equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining seamless operations and delivering excellent support across the organisation. Duties for the 1st Line IT support will include but not be limited to the following: Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of IT systems, including servers, network switches, and telecom equipment. Provide first-line technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues related to IT infrastructure. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems efficiently, providing timely solutions or escalating issues to higher support levels as needed. Conduct proactive maintenance on IT infrastructure to prevent disruptions, including system updates, patch management, and hardware checks. Document and track incidents and resolutions in the IT service management system to improve service delivery and knowledge sharing. Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve overall system performance. Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software. Educate users on best practices for IT system usage and security. Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures. Stay current on technology trends and developments to provide effective support. The ideal candidate for the 1st Line IT Support will have the following: Previous experience in 1st line IT support Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, switches, and telecommunications equipment. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and network protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm with a rota for out of hours support so flexibility is a must.
