Murex Flex, Murex API, Java, C#, C++. Quant Developer

Ink Search are representing a global commodities trading organisation based in Central London. Due to a large investment in the redesign and development of their derivatives trading systems landscape, they are seeking a Specialist Murex Flex Developer to be responsible for the overall integration of the Murex trading platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the Murex Flex module and a strong background in quantitative finance and OO programming. This role will involve integrating new product types, implementing relevant pricing models, and ensuring seamless integration with various systems and reports. Education:

  • Advanced degree in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in integrating and developing on the Murex platform, using the Flex module and Murex API.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of stochastic processes and option valuation models.
  • Proficiency in low-level programming languages such as C++ and Java.
  • Experience with the Murex Scripting environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Murex APIs and integration techniques.

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with financial products and trading processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a commodity trading environment.
  • Certification in relevant Murex modules.
  • Experience with API optimization and integration for data production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the integration of the Murex trading platform
  • Integrate new product types within the Murex application using the Flex module
  • Develop and implement relevant pricing models based on product descriptions (choice of diffusion process, numerical integration method, etc.).
  • Ensure integration with standard reports such as expiry, fixings, barriers monitoring, scenarios, value at risk, etc.
  • Serve as the in-house expert on Murex APIs, ensuring flawless integration with upstream and downstream exchanges.
  • Deliver bespoke spreadsheets to the trading desks.
  • Implement a generic trade booking interface on the web for easy booking of bespoke Flex trades into the system.
  • Collaborate with Risk IT to optimize API calls for data production purposes such as scenarios or VaR
