Global technology company in Edinburgh is looking to hire an experienced Open Source Build Engineer as they continue to expand their use of Open Source engineering.

This team works across the organisation to provide tools and infrastructure to streamline the development, release, and deployment of software. This is a key role as they are looking for this individual to bring Open Source expertise to the team.

The role will involve:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining CI/ CD tooling
  • Creating automation jobs to build Open Source build tools such as gcc and OpenOCD
  • Creating and managing workflows for CI/ CD pipelines
  • Support teams in creating or migrating CI/ CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Create docker images and write shared libraries that allow developers to easily create CI/ CD pipelines.Key skills/ experience required:
    • Experience of building Open Source tooling, infrastructure, DevOps
    • Excellent knowledge in CI/ CD pipelines, especially with GitHub Actions and Jenkins Pipelines
    • Deep knowledge of Typescript and Python
    • Familiarity with Open Source tools and contributions to the open-source community (Zephyr and/ or embedded Linux preferred)You will be taking a key role in working on greenfield open source build projects, often creating new build, infrastructure and devops tools from the ground up.

      This is a hybrid role role - requiring 3 days per week in their Edinburgh office.
