WeDoData are working exclusively with a secondary school & sixth form in Kent, who have recently moved into a brand new £40 million site with state of the art equipment and technology, who are now looking for a Deputy IT Manager to join the team. The school has around 1100 students with around 400 machines, and is a technology driven school who are in a hybrid cloud environment, with the aim to move more to a full cloud based environment. The role You will be the 3rd person in the IT team, working with the IT Manager and a Junior IT Technician, with the aim of freeing up the IT Manager to focus more on the strategic side of the IT department. Your day to day role will be varied, with a variety of responsibilities ranging from the basics of printer repairs and password resets, to more exciting projects and higher level networking issues. You will be working in a Microsoft environment, so strong experience of Microsoft products and O365 is essential in this role. Career progression! With this role comes a clear opportunity for career progression to IT Manager. The current IT Manager plans on retiring in the next 2-3 years, and the aim will be for the deputy to get up to speed during this time to then step into the IT Manager position. Requirements Previous experience working in IT within a school or college is highly desirable as the environment and nature of the role can be quite different to other sectors. * Strong Microsoft experience is essential including Office 365 administration * Knowledge of Microsoft cloud based products (Sharepoint/EntraID etc) * 1st & 2nd line support experience in a school environment or similar * Network management knowledge - CompTIA A+ certified or equivalent * Willingness to learn & progress In return This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tech driven school, in a department where there is clear scope for progression in a reasonable amount of time.
