Lead Hardware Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology company based in Malvern, specialising in defence technologies. The company is well-known for developing advanced hardware solutions that serve critical defence applications, helping to deliver high-performance and reliable systems for use in challenging and mission-critical environments.
As the Lead Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of complex hardware systems involving RF, analog, and digital electronics. You will take the lead on project delivery, guiding the design process from initial concept to production, ensuring that hardware systems meet rigorous defence standards. The role will involve system-level design, PCB layout, hardware prototyping, and working closely with software and mechanical engineering teams to ensure smooth integration across the full system architecture.
The ideal Lead Hardware Engineer will have:
- Extensive experience in RF, analog, and digital circuit design
- Proven ability in system-level hardware design, including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Expertise in hardware testing, debugging, and validation processes
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor engineering teams
- Previous experience in defence or a heavily regulated industry is highly desirable
