RPG Developer – 9 Month Contract – Outside IR35 Chapman Tate Associates, a premier IT recruitment specialist, is excited to partner with an innovative and technology-driven Software company. Our client is seeking a highly skilled RPG Developer who has experience with RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4, and also possesses front-end development experience. This is a unique opportunity to work on both legacy systems and modern web applications, contributing to the company's ongoing success and digital transformation. Key Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain RPG applications, utilizing ILE concepts and the latest RPG features. * Integrate RPG applications with other systems, including web services, ensuring smooth data flow and functionality. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, to understand requirements and translate them into development tasks. * Leverage your strong proficiency in Java to support and enhance RPG applications. * Utilize your knowledge of web technologies (JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful APIs to build and maintain modern, user-friendly interfaces. * Work with SQL and database management systems to optimize data storage and retrieval processes. * Apply Agile methodologies (SCRUM or Kanban) to manage development processes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of features. * Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed. Experience: * Strong experience as an RPG programmer, with in-depth knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) systems and ILE concepts. * Proven experience in integrating RPG applications with other systems, particularly web services. * Proficiency in Java programming. * Experience with web technologies (JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful APIs. * Experience with SQL and database management systems. * Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. * Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment, with experience in methodologies like SCRUM or Kanban. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
